On the morning of April 17, To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President of Vietnam, accompanied by his wife, visited Guangxi University. They paid respects at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, viewed the historical exhibition of the Nanning Yu Cai School (Guangxi) and the video documentary “Deep Friendship between Vietnam and China, Comrades and Brothers”. He delivered a speech and wrote an inscription at the former site of the Nanning Yu Cai School (Central Zone for Vietnamese Students) in Guangxi. Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi People’s Congress, accompanied the activities.

To Lam expressed his delight at visiting the former site of the Central Zone for Vietnamese Students——the Nanning Yu Cai School in Guangxi, a historically symbolic location, during a spring season full of vitality, youthful spirit, and hope. The Nanning Yu Cai School in Guangxi is an important landmark bearing witness to the profound friendship of "comrades and brothers" between the two Parties, two countries, and two peoples.
He recalled that in the 1950s, when the Vietnamese people were engaged in a prolonged struggle for national independence, the Chinese Party, Government, and people, acting in the spirit of pure proletarian internationalism and profound friendship, helped nurture thousands of young Vietnamese students. A large number of these students later grew up to become scientists, educators, administrative cadres, and artists, forming the backbone of Vietnam's revolutionary and construction efforts.
To Lam pointed out that despite the difficult conditions in the early days of New China, China still prioritized allocating precious resources to build school facilities, ensure living standards and safety, and create a good learning environment for Vietnamese students. The touching stories between teachers and students of Yu Cai School have become precious and unforgettable historical memories, further enriching the shared valuable asset of friendship between the two peoples. He emphasized that the Vietnamese Party, Government, and people always remember and cherish the valuable support and assistance from the Chinese Party, Government, and people during Vietnam's revolutionary struggle and current national construction and development. He sincerely thanked the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, the Guangxi Government, and the people for their meticulous protection of the former Yu Cai School site and historical sites related to President Ho Chi Minh in Guangxi, allowing these places to become important red landmarks symbolizing the "comrades and brothers" friendship between the two Parties and two countries.
He fondly recalled President Ho Chi Minh's earnest instructions when he visited Nanning Yu Cai School in 1957: The young generation should cherish and be grateful for the help of international friends, study hard, train diligently, and maintain a humble and industrious character. Revisiting the school motto personally established by President Ho Chi Minh——"Unity–Study–Progress–Service", he noted that this is not only an educational philosophy but also a timeless value pursuit. He expressed the hope that Guangxi University and other educational institutions in Guangxi would continue to play the role of a bridge for knowledge and culture, deepen exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese universities, cultivate more outstanding talents, and provide strong support for the development of both countries. He firmly believes that, based on a solid historical foundation, under the correct strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, and with the proactive and enthusiastic joint efforts of the younger generation of both countries, the friendly relations between Vietnam and China will continue to be inherited and developed, continuously yielding fruitful results and moving steadily and sustainably forward.

Li Guozhong, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi University Committee, presided over the speech and extended a warm welcome to General Secretary and State President To Lam on his visit to Guangxi University. He stated that in 1958, Guangxi University was rebuilt on the former site of the Nanning Yu Cai School in Guangxi, carrying and bearing witness to the precious friendship of "deep friendship between Vietnam and China, comrades and brothers." The visit of General Secretary and State President To Lam to the university is a great honor and a deep inspiration for the faculty and students. Guangxi University will carry forward the profound friendship of "comrades and brothers" between China and Vietnam and contribute wisdom and strength to building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
After the speech, To Lam wrote an inscription, once again sincerely thanking the Chinese Party and Government for their meticulous protection of the former site, their assistance in talent cultivation, and their unremitting efforts to help the youth inherit and carry forward the traditional China-Vietnam friendship. He wished the friendship between Vietnam and China everlasting and eternal.

The Vietnamese side presented a copperplate etching of the “Imperial Academy (V?n Mi?u - Qu?c T? Giám)” gifted to Guangxi University in the name of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President T? Lam. Guangxi University presented a traditional Chinese painting of the “Guangxi University Auditorium” in return. To Lam and his delegation also took a group photo with representatives of Chinese and Vietnamese youth from universities in Guangxi.
During this high-level visit, the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Autonomous Region Government Information Office, the Autonomous Region Foreign Affairs Office, the Autonomous Region Department of Education, and Guangxi University jointly organized the “China (Guangxi)–Vietnam Youth Hand-in-Hand Activity.”
